Kin AXE Land is where I hunt to feed my family and pay for new spears. I’ve been chasin’ mammoth with this exceptional group of hunters at Kinaxis for eons (an eon = 20 years), and it has been a ton of fun. If you check out my Linked-in Profile, you’ll see that I’ve spent almost 15 years in R&D developing the RapidResponse supply-chain application software. Then, at the Center of Excellence, I had a chance to work with customers, partners, and consultants who create these complex supply-chain solutions. There I’ve learned how it feels to be in the trenches, at the receiving end of whatever R&D creates. I’ve developed a genuine appreciation of how complex supply-chain is, and by extension, how complex are the solutions for the super-large customers we serve. It is really hard to build them. This website is an effort to help to make it easier by sharing script snippets and workbook examples.
I’ve been writing a technical blog Forms, Scripts and Tips for a while, but its focus is on long posts, or a series of posts on a specific topic. For example, I have six posts dedicated to building a comprehensive solution to manage and audit users, groups, and permissions. There are also examples on using web services, on implementing change tracking and undo, selective scenario commit, importing Excel files, etc.
I noticed there are a lot of questions on the KXS RapidResponse Advanced Topics forum on scripting, scheduled tasks, and workbook authoring tricks. We all learn by example. When I start a new project, I also try to find something similar so I get an idea how to solve the problem and the best practices to follow. This personal website allows me to gather some good examples in one place, where I can organize, annotate and document them (and in the process learn a ton about WordPress).
Welcome to Kinaxis land! I hope you find these resources useful. I provide them in my personal capacity, not as a Kinaxis empolyee, so treat them with a grain of salt. I’ve been known to be wrong
Please do send comments and suggestions, or contribute things you have accumulated in your own toolkit.
