Launching Paul’s Cave website!

Courtesy of Covid-19, if’ve finally found the time to put together my website. The website name (www.PaulsCave.com) is not just a result of domain search for the coveted dot-com spot of the web, but also my twisted sense of humor. Since I started working from home almost two years ago, I’ve gotten quite comfortable in my basement office. It has literally become my man-cave. Between three monitors, a laser printer, a 3D printer, a workspace for my adruino electronics projects, and a small gym, it’s quite a set up. And I am truly grateful to be able to work in such comfort during this tumultuous time, and happy for my colleagues at Kinaxis since our company was ready to shift to 100% remote work on a short notice. A shout-out to my IT folks, the unsung heroes of the day, after the health care workers of course.

But this is not a corona-virus post. It’s a welcome to all those who take the time to visit PaulsCave.com and who share my personal and professional interests. Having worked many years as  a programmer I am a certifiable geek. The best way to describe my personal hobbies is to say that I am a maker. I like woodworking, but also gadgets (3D printing and design) and electronics (Arduino and robotics). I also like humor, and especially geek humor. My newest project is to revive the Funny Technology forum of the Google Plus fame. I have registered www.FunnyTechnology.org and hope to restore this amazing collection of humor curated by the 7000 members over many years. Stay tuned.

I’ve tried blogging on LinkedIn and several other platforms and have not liked the experience at all. So I’ve decided to launch my own site and cross-post as appropriate. Time will tell if this was a good idea.

Enjoy, and please share your thoughts, encouragement, or criticism.

This site is an eclectic mix of my professional interests and hobbies. I invite you to explore it!
